About Chris Elwell

Chris is a partner in and president of Third Door Media. Third Door Media publishes web sites, and produces in-person events and webcasts. Each of the four brands – Search Engine Land, Search Marketing Expo, Search Marketing Now, and Sphinn – fosters continuing education, evolution and engagement for the community they serve.

Chris has more than 20 years interactive media and marketing experience in management, product development, marketing and editorial positions. From 1997 to 2006, Chris was Vice President & General Manager of JupiterWeb, the online publishing division of what is now Jupitermedia Corporation (NASDAQ: JUPM). In that role, he was responsible for sales, marketing, editorial and production of JupiterWeb’s more than 100 web sites. He participated in more than 50 site acquisitions and was a key member of the management team that took Jupitermedia-predecessor, internet.com Corporation, public in 1999.He also directed the launch of Jupitermedia’s Events division in 1999, the year Jupitermedia teamed with Danny Sullivan to produce the first Search Engine Strategies conference. Prior to Jupitermedia, Chris served in management, marketing and product development capacities at business research and publishing firm Simba Information. He began his career in business journalism at Knowledge Industry Publications and Digital Information Group, and was in new business development department at Covidea, a pioneering home banking joint venture of AT&T, Time Inc. and Chemical Bank.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from an obscure New England college and lives in Redding, CT, with his wife, Paula, and children, Elizabeth and Alex.

About Dawn Briggs

Dawn Briggs is Director of East Coast Sales at Business.com, the leading business search engine, directory and pay-per-click advertising network serving more than 40 million unique business users and thousands of advertisers every month.

Dawn has over 13 years of experience selling media. She spent 5 years in IT publishing working for companies like CMP Media and Ziff Davis. She began her search career as a member of the original sales team at LookSmart from 1998 through 2000. She spent 3 years selling in-flight media for Pace Communications and as an independent contractor. Before joining Business.com she was VP of Sales for Modern Media Partners, a consultancy who works with established business media companies and with media entrepreneurs to build, produce, market and sell business conferences and media brands. Dawn has sold print, broadcast, out-of-home media, events, online display and search media and understands the value of media integration to achieve marketing objectives.

Dawn holds a masters degree in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University, and is a graduate of Union College. She lives in Newtown, CT with her husband, and two children.

About Robert Jackson

Robert Jackson is a partner in Hochman Consultants where he helps clients write marketing plans, and manage search marketing campaigns.

Robert graduated from Yale University in 1993 (BA). From 1993 to 1999 he assisted international clients with marketing, business strategy and operations, ranging from consumer products to industrial commodities. He then attended the University of Michigan Business School with a focus on marketing and entrepreneurial studies. After earning his MBA in 2001, he joined a venture formed to develop hotel and resort properties in Southeast Asia where he was responsible for creating Internet marketing and business development strategies.

Robert resides in Denver, Colorado. For fun, he climbs mountains and plays hockey.
