Next SEMNE Event July 24th

Join us in Newton, MA from 6:30PM-9:00PM for a night of networking and a presentation on "Holistic Link Building."

Planning the first SEMNE event was quite the challenge, as we had never done anything like this before. Not only did we have to plan for the event, obtain a great speaker, set up sponsors, etc., but we had to set up the entire SEMNE website, install membership software, create mailing lists and a zillion other things.

Thankfully, it all paid off handsomely Tues. March 6, 2007 as we welcomed our first guests to the Lexington Room at the Newton, MA Marriott.

As you can see by the picture below…we look very tired!

Fredrick Marckini, founder if iProspect gave an energetic presentation about the fact that “search” is everywhere these days, not just at Google — so if you haven’t thought about how to make your site indexable, you’re going to be missing out in more ways than you can imagine.

He talked about how press releases aren’t just for reporters anymore, and how being listed in places like Google and/or Yahoo News can bring tons of traffic. Basically, you want to cover all your bases with as much quality content as possible.

All in all, Fredrick did a great job of engaging the audience and keeping their attention.

Unfortunately, we forgot to take the camera out for the networking part at the beginning of the evening. Suffice it to say from my conversations with people, they were enjoying getting away from their laptops and talking about SEO/SEM in real life with old friends and new!

Our next event features Stephen Turcotte, founder of Backbone Media discussing blogging and search engine rankings. Hope to see you there!
